Three Wheeled Buggies
Three-wheeled buggies are ideal for walking around the neighborhood or for jogging. Their compact design makes them easy to manoeuvre, even in tight spaces.
If you are looking for a smooth ride with your baby, opt for models with 360deg front wheels with swivel. However, they are susceptible to punctures, so be prepared with an repair kit.
Sturdy frame
The latest figures have been released showing that the three-wheeled buggie which was a symbol of the decade of more money than sense - is in steep decline. Four-wheelers are replacing them, and are more versatile and easier to drive and look stylish.
The larger the wheels are the more your buggy will be able to deal with uneven surfaces and bumpy pavements. Having larger wheels both front and back makes it easier to maneuver and more stable when walking downhill or on difficult terrain.
MFM reviewer Kath tried this buggy out with a newborn and a 3 year old and found that it was able to handle cobbles, grass rough pavements, dirt tracks and kerbs. Kath said that "it is solid to push and is very stable when traversing difficult terrain. Its tyres (which are inflatable and require occasionally pumping) come with suspension built-in which was extremely comfortable for my children.
The shape and size of the seat is another thing to consider. The seat should be large enough to allow your child to feel comfortable and allow them to lie down. Certain three-wheel buggies come with the option of lying flat, which allows your child to lie flat and face you, whereas others only allow a face-to-parent one.
A great option for those who want to tackle off-road and muddy walks is the Roma Atlas. It can be used as a one-person unit from the beginning and can be modified to take two children when your family expands. It is suitable for infants and toddlers from birth to age 4 and includes a bumper, raincover, an improved 5-point harness, and a huge cushioned seat. The storage options are good as well, with a decent-sized basket, zip pockets inside the hood, and an easy-to-access pouch on the rear of the seat unit.
Larger wheels
Larger wheels will give your buggy greater stability when driving over rough terrain. This is ideal for buggies designed for off-road use. In addition, they allow you to maneuver the buggy through tight spaces. Certain three-wheeled buggies have wheels that swivel at the front to help you navigate tight corners. Others are designed to run and have fixed wheels that lock to provide increased speed and stability. This is particularly useful when you hit the kerb or a tree. The front wheel can be lifted slightly to avoid hitting it.
A lot of 3 wheeled pushchair s come with air-filled tyres that allow them to handle a wide range of terrains. They are also more flexible than 4 wheelers. They're also lighter. However, they're susceptible to punctures and you'll need to keep a repair kit, spare inner tube and pump in your bag.
Some of our favourite 3-wheelers include the Mountain Buggy Core and Venicci Carbo Lux. These buggies, according to MFM's Kath, have larger wheels, which she claims "perform well on grass, gravel roads and market town cobbles", and can easily go up or down kerbs. They also have a suspension system that, in her words "smoothes out bumps very effectively".
The drawback of having larger wheels is that they make buggies quite large and can struggle to fit through narrow spaces. This is an issue if you plan to use it for jogging, or need to fit through narrow doorways while out and about. The majority of models come with small folding options that let you remove the front wheels and store them in a more compact manner.
Easy to manoeuvre
One of the major advantages to a three-wheeled buggy is that it can be much more maneuverable especially with a child in the back. The way in which they are constructed means that the front wheels spin at a whim and are really easy to manoeuvre, making them ideal for difficult terrains like cobbles, parks and bumpy pavements as well as dirt tracks.
MFM reviewer Kath tried an all-wheeler with her toddler. she reported: "The Terrain is a pleasure to drive in rough terrain. The front swivel wheel was especially useful." I was also awed by how well it dealt with kerbs, especially when using the hand-operated brake. It was very stable going downhill or on uneven terrain."

The only downside to this incredible maneuverability is that the larger wheels of a 3 wheel buggy can sometimes make it difficult to fit into tight spaces. This is something you should be aware of if your home area is one of the cities. If this is the case then a four-wheeled buggy might be a better option for you.
Bumper bar
Bumper bars can shield your child from bumps and scrapes while out and out and about. They are simple and quick to install and make your child feel safe and secure while out on the town or taking on tough terrain.
The bumper bar is designed to complement the sleek lines on your Slim Twin stroller. It comes with a soft, padded surface that provides a comfortable surface for your child to grasp onto while walking. The durable construction and sturdy design will ensure that your child can enjoy strolling around town without having to worry about falling out of the buggy or leaning too far in the direction of.
The fabric sling sits snugly within the frame, not on top like the seat that is modular. This puts the center of gravity for your baby at the right height and also delivers excellent weight distribution to make it easier to push over curbs (it is much easier to push a stroller up and down than you think). MFM reviewer Kath said it's great on grass and cobbles. It's also a great option for running thanks to its air-filled tyres and lockable swivel wheel.
This bumper bar is sure to make heads turn wherever it's utilized. It has a classy and elegant look. It's available in a variety of colours and finishes to fit your style. The bumper bar can be removed and installed using a quick-release mechanism. The bumper bar is easy to clean since it is made of strong materials. This makes it an excellent option for families that want an elegant and safe accessory for their stroller.
Comfort
A 3-wheel buggie offers the most maneuverability and performance when going off-road. With perfect design, engineering and weight distribution this kind of buggy is able to turn on a dime and be a breeze to steer with one hand. Mountain Buggies are tested to the same rigorous global stability standards and tests as buggies with four wheels.
The clever design of the Sport places the fabric sling seat inside the frame, instead of over it like modular seats. This lets it have lower center of gravity which means it's easier to push, has a less weighty curb-pop (you will not need to exert as much effort to lift the buggy's nose over a curb) and provides more stability and balance. With 16" rear wheels, lockable front wheel, and tyres that are air-filled, you can enjoy a smoother, more comfortable jogging.
As the only all-terrain pushchair in our collection to come with a parent-facing seat that can also be used as a carrycot or car seat to ensure the future of your family and enjoy every adventure starting at day's end and into the future - all within the footprint of a single buggy!
But that's not the only reason to love this buggy It's also a great way to get around - our MFM reviewer Kath loved how spacious it is too. There's a big easy-to-access basket that's quite spacious for a buggy of this size, plus there's a handy zipped pouch on the rear of the seat unit, and two smaller mesh pockets inside the hood to keep your keys and phone.
